One of the best horror movies to be produced in years, The Descent is old-school in execution. There is little (if any) cgi, and there is good character development in the beginning. At it’s heart, this movie is about claustrophobia, but refreshingly, it’s also a monster movie. The monsters in The Descent are obviously make-up based, and it’s much scarier for it. (There’s nothing less scary than a computer generated monster.) Very original, and genuinely frightening, The Descent makes my top ten list of all time, and I’ve seen some horror movies.
