Unfortunately Zoe was very sick when we brought her home from the Humane Society, although you’d never know it to see her. She was very gentle with people, although she didn’t take any nonsense from other dogs! Monica took her to the vet many times in the short time we had her, and she just wasn’t going to get better. Apparently valley fever, a kind of fungus infection, is very serious to dogs. The medication she had to take made her sick and exhausted, and we couldn’t let it go on any longer. We’ll remember Zoe, she left a big impression, she even howled what sounded like “Heeelllloooo!” when I got home from work.
I didn’t know Zoe personnally, but I did know her reputation as a good dog. It is a sad day indeed. I like animals better than most people, so I understand the hardships you are going through. Perhaps I should send something, although I probably will not.
As a matter of fact, Zoe always ate well. One of her first experiences at the Colello Farm was being hand-fed big slabs of baked ham. She also enjoyed steak, hamburgers, and cheese.

I hope she at least got a slice of that pizza.

The Colello farm needs a replacement for Zoe. Does anyone wish to donate an animal (of any kind) to the FARM?
