The improbable president…
I saw this poster for Oliver Stone’s upcoming movie, “W”, and just had to post it.

Allow me to share some of my favorites that did not make the poster:
“This is Preservation Month. I appreciate preservation. It’s what you do when you run for president. You gotta preserve.” - Speaking during “Perseverance Month” at Fairgrounds Elementary School in Nashua, NH (01-28-00)
“As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself - not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar tree. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch.” - After visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center (01-01-06)
“It’s clearly a budget. It’s got lots of numbers in it.” - Quoted by Reuters (05-05-00)
And of course, “Rarely is the question asked ‘Is our children learning?’”

“Wait a minute. What did you just say? You’re predicting $4-a-gallon gas? … That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that.” –George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Feb. 28, 2008

How about when he introduced Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas at the peace summit in Annapolis? He mispronounced both their names as if seeing them in print for the first time.
Ironically, one of the First Lady’s big issues is literacy.
No child left behind, but maybe one dumbass president.
Remember, a democracy gets the government it deserves.

MS. MORNIN: That’s good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.
THE PRESIDENT: You work three jobs?
MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.
THE PRESIDENT: Uniquely American, isn’t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you’re doing that. (Applause.) Get any sleep?
Only in America can you work 3 jobs and still not have enough to get by

I was in Ireland with friends before the last Presidential election. On more than one occasion an Irishman would ask us to NOT vote for Bush in the upcoming election. Whenever politics came up in conversation, no one there was for Bush. While there, I was surprised to learn that my 3 friends all planned to vote for Bush. I couldn’t believe that they were for a man who so obviously was unfit for the job. One of them was an ex-Marine who I would have thought would be pissed at Bush for using his daddy’s influence to avoid Vietnam. Guess the Irish were right. Something is seriously wrong with this country that so many people could have been so foolish to vote Bush into office.
